Vin. Carmel

VIN Wine Bar + Bottle Boutique is the dream of wine connoisseur and wine concierge Roslyn Anderson. After moving to Carmel-By-The-Sea, CA, she couldn’t find the vino she coveted and decided to open her own bar.

Carmel-By-The-Sea is a popular vacation destination with many restaurants and bars, so it’s challenging to stand out from the competition. Plus, the location isn’t central, so the brand needed to draw people in.

Taking inspiration from Roslyn’s energetic, magnetizing personality and love of good wine, we created a bold brand design and brand strategy with straight-to-the-point messaging. The logo utilizes a full-stop period—because at the end of the day, VIN is “About The Wine. Period.” Additional pithy taglines were crafted around the messaging: At the end of the day, all that matters is if you love the wine you're sipping.

To build out the visual identity, including the website design, vintage-inspired imagery of people enjoying wine were illustrated to take the edge off the pretentious reputation of wine, as well as add a bit of playfulness. An eye-catching bottle pattern was crafted to highlight various bottle and glass shapes, hinting at the depth and knowledge of the staff.
